Sara over at Shabby Grace told us that Davey reminds her of Chip from the show Fixer Upper. So we sat down to watch an episode. And then another. And another. And pretty soon we were well into a Fixer Upper marathon.
And yes, Chip’s crazy antics are definitely in par with Davey’s. Minus the cockroach-eating, thank heavens.
We quickly fell in love with the show. Joanna’s style speaks to both of us and that right there is a big deal.
50 Shades of Gray, the Bihl Edition
In the wake of a light and airy playroom makeover, we found ourselves knee deep in paint samples. Oh my gosh, you guys…there are like hundreds of variations of gray! So we paused a moment and said to ourselves, Pig and Rabbit, what colors would Joanna Gaines choose?
We took to the Internet and researched her favorite colors.
“I hesitate to name the colors based on the episode and pictures because paint is tricky and it looks very different in pictures and onscreen than it does in real life. However, some of my favorite shades and tones of Season One were in the gray family. Many of my clients didn’t want beige and asked for light and airy spaces. I use several different brands of paint and don’t necessarily have a favorite. Some colors I used last season were …”
Oyster Pearl and Passive Gray.
We promptly went to Home Depot and picked up all five of Joanna’s faves. I love Mindful Gray and Silver Strand (swoon!) and Davey loves Mindful Gray.
Kazaam! We’ve got a winner.
We are scheduled to paint and redecorate next month. We’ll post before and afters soon!
