I’m coming out of the closet, folks.
I have a rather odd admission to make. Gulp. Here goes …
I like to paint and organize closets.
There it is.
And even more … recently, I decided to SHIPLAP a closet. And not even a grand walk-in closet where a girl might keep all of her jimmy choos and chic wardrobe and favorite jewels. Oh no. This is our tiny little craft/office storage headquarters.
And I must like you guys an awful lot because I am going to show you the uncensored BEFORE photo. Here it is:
Seriously, it’s amazing how much STUFF you can cram into a closet!
So this wasn’t working out for me. Plainly. And I’ve been wanting to take a stab at shiplapping all on my lonesome, an excuse to fire up the ole power tools. I figured, hey, why not start here. If I screw up, it’s still a step up from what it was, haha. And really, this closet needs more shelves so it can function properly.
So while I have lots of projects on my to do list, I tackled the closet. With shiplap. But I felt so compelled. And like my friend Liz says, “being creative isn’t frivolous. It is our divine right.”
